Just made Richard Bean Speakman sit down and actually *watch* this video for the first time in 25 years. It’s amazingly hilarious. #The80sMadeMeGay

Listening to this after hearing that Lynn Anderson died yesterday. It dredges up dusty old memories of living in Fort Wayne in the early 1970s and riding my Big Wheel up and down the block from my best friend’s, Scott Labundy’s house, to ours over and over. In my mind’s ear, I hear my mom singing this song. My mom sang a lot.
Our house was always filled with art and music, which I took for granted.
Mom playing the piano, and my brothers and sisters tinkering at it at odd hours. It wasn’t until I went to college that I realized most people grow up in a house without a piano or without a family gifted with music and art appreciation. Sad.

This song reminds me of the Hollywood House and the parties we used to have there. The hook of the song was borrowed from Lynn Anderson’s hit 1971 song, “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden.” She died yesterday at age 67.

Always be yourself. Unless you can be Endora, then always be Endora.
You Are ENDORA!
You are Endora from “Bewitched!” You are sassy, classy, and full of charm. Despite your calm, sophisticated exterior, you are brimming with power — and you’re not afraid to use it! You have little patience for dumb mortals — but if you love someone, you protect them with all your might. You are a force to be reckoned with!
Endora, played by Agnes Moorehead, was a leading character on the wildly popular TV show “Bewitched.” She was a powerful witch who hated mortals — specifically her bumbling son-in-law, Darrin.

As I once said after having too many cocktails, “I love mimmimullism,” right before I barfed.
