My home state of Indiana and its two main cultures are roughly divided by U.S. 30. North of that road, where I grew up is culturally northern, It was originally settled by French Canadians and has a distinct northern accent and a Great Lakes blue collar labor union democratic culture. This is where I was born and raised. Whereas south of U.S. 30 has a pronounced Southern twang both vocally and culturally. This is where I went to college.
